Amazon Jumps The Mark Cuban Shark Tank (Collection)

Mark Cuban Collection Comes To Amazon

Half of the products that show up on the TV show “Shark Tank” are as useless as they are entertaining to watch crash and burn, but as for the other half, Amazon and Mark Cuban are doing what they can to get them out of the tank and onto the market.

Amazon announced Tuesday (June 1) that its Amazon Exclusives program had officially launched The Mark Cuban Collection of cutting-edge items, many of which come directly from pitches made on “Shark Tank.” Starting with more than 100 products, the collection will try to give customers what they want much faster than normal development timelines would otherwise allow.

“At Amazon Exclusives, customers can easily find new brands that have chosen to quickly bring their hot items directly to Amazon,” Kyle Walker, category leader for Amazon Exclusives, said in a statement. “Many of the items in The Mark Cuban Collection have created a buzz on TV and built customer demand before they are even available. We want to give customers access to these must-have new items.”

About 20 brands make up The Mark Cuban Collection, including Tower Paddleboards, Slyde Handboards, Power Practical and Bottle Breacher. That brings the total number of brands under the Amazon Exclusives umbrella up to 300, with a collective 20,000 products between them.

Amazon claims that its Exclusives store sold $50 million in 2015 and who can say by what multiple that figure will increase now that Cuban-approved paddleboards are for sale.
