Ingenico Buys Ogone, Aims To Be "One-Stop Shop" For Payments

29 January 2013

Ingenico has announced that they've reached an agreement with Summit Partners to purchase European payments service Ogone in a move to become a "one-stop shop" for payments processing. Ingenico will make the purchase for for around $484 million.

Ogone's eCommerce platform serves over 42,000 merchants and made around $56 million in revenue in 2012: a number that's expected to increase in 2013 thanks to a recent white-label contract with Barclaycard.

"Combining Ogone's leading position in the online space with our unique position in the point-of-sale and mobile space will enable us to address multi-channel global payment solutions for both merchants and acquirers, first in Europe and then in high potential geographies," said Philippe Lazare, CEO of Ingenico.
