Major U.S. retail giant Walmart unveiled “Gadgets to Gift Cards” on August 15, a new program that asks customers to provide the company with used smartphones and tablets in exchange for gift cards, CNET reported.
The program is similar to traditional retail device buyback programs, with one notable exception. Participants will be able to spend the money they receive instantly, even before they send their device in for verification.
