According to ComScore, this holiday season saw online sales in the U.S. alone increase 15 percent from $32.3 billion in 2010 to $37.2 billion. With online shopping only continuing to grow, it’s important to make the consumer experience as easy as possible – while also ensuring transactions are safe and secure. To date, these goals have typically been at odds vs. in sync. That’s all about to change thanks to our work with Intel.

We are showcasing a new solution that will make buying something online as easy as waving a card or smartphone over your laptop. This technology combines Intel’s expertise in computer processing and MasterCard’s PayPass technology (you can already tap and go at checkout counters, gas pumps and taxi cabs with PayPass).

Now, PayPass is enabling Ultrabooks (powered by Intel) to make online shopping easier and more secure. No more endless stream of keystrokes and mouse clicks at checkout. No more jogging your brain to remember your log-in for that site, or where you left your wallet to enter your card details. Instead, simply tap your PayPass-enabled card or smartphone and move on. It’s just that easy.
