New Echo Card Combines Three Magstripe Cards Into One

The new Echo card from Protean lets consumers reduce wallet clutter by putting three of their payment cards onto one piece of plastic, TechCrunch notes.

Users first load the information for their selected cards into a Protean-designed smartphone app using a dongle, also issued by Protean. The information can then be transferred to the Echo card. Then, at the point of sale, consumers choose which card they’d like to use by touching one of three “buttons” on the Echo’s face.

The card costs $80, TechCrunch says.
