Study: Starbucks Sees Most U.S. mWallet Spend

Starbucks received “the vast majority” of the $500 million in good and services spent in the U.S. via mobile wallet in 2012, according to GigaOM.

The GigaOM report cites a new study by Berg Insights, which says that the transactions came via Starbucks’ own smartphone card app. The report also suggests that the mobile wallet market will grow to $35 billion in 2017.

In March, Starbucks CEO revealed that his company sees more than 3 million mobile transactions per week.
