Uber Rolls Out UberTAXI Service In Washington, D.C.
Mobile eHailing app Uber has launched its taxi service in Washington, D.C., according to TechCrunch. The UberTAXI roll out follows the company’s standard town car service to the Nation’s Capital, which ruled in favor of eHailing apps in December 2012.
While perhaps more convenient, UberTAXI is also more expensive than hailing a regular cab thanks to a $2 dispatch fee per use and an automatic 20 percent gratuity credited to the driver after each ride.
