Isis Delays Launch Date Again

Mobile wallet provider Isis' trial launch date is delayed yet again, according to Jaymee Johnson, Isis' head of marketing. The company's initial plan had been to start service in Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas by the end of summer, reports Finextra. Johnson said the company plans to reveal when the new intended launch date is in October.

Originally set to debut in the first half of 2012, Isis decided to delay its product as it shifted transaction responsibilities from carriers to credit card issuers. As a result, Isis has had to push back its launch date in order to ensure payments security. Rumors has been going around that we'd see Isis in September, but clearly that is not the case.

Isis is backed by AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile, giving it a broad range of carriers the company believes will give it an advantage over other mobile wallet competitors, such as Google Wallet.
