Chinese Energy Company Deploys NFC-Enabled Smart Meters

Electricity consumers in Chongqing, China, will soon be able to track — and pay for — their resource usage thanks to NFC-enabled smart readers deployed by Wasion Group, according to NFC World.
ST Microelectronics is on board to enable the NFC connection, while Gemalto is providing a secure operating system for the device.
