Visa Denies Hacking Claim, Attacker Changes His Story

Visa has denied claims that its account data was hacked by a rogue cybervillain.

Earlier this week, the user of the Twitter account “Reckz0r” claimed to have stolen 50 gigabytes of account data from the world’s two largest payment networks. But Visa has since announced that the user's claims were bunk, through comments to Finextra, which reported on the original "Reckz0r" claim.

Now the hacker says he acquired the compromised data from several dozen large banks.
