U.S. Charges Three Men In Gozi Bank Malware Case
United States authorities have charged three men with the creation and distribution of the Gozi computer virus, which compromised millions of computers and caused tens of millions of dollars in damage.
The virus infected around 40,000 computers in the U.S. – including some belonging to NASA. Nikita Kuzmin, Deniss Calovskis and Mihai Ionut Paunescu have all been arrested in connection with the virus, which first surfaced in 2005, according to Finextra. The three face up to 95, 67 and 60 years in prison, respectively.
