Analyst: Apple Ready to Sell iPhone in Developing Markets
Peter Misek, an analyst at Jeffries, says Apple has signed an agreement “with a major global distributor” to deliver iPhones to a new set of consumers, including those in developing markets, according to Forbes.
The new approach could also put iPhones in the hands of consumers who use pre-paid wireless services.
In a research note published Sunday, Misek suggested that a re-priced iPhone 3GS might be sold without a contract for $200. If true, the news would have enormous implications for the proliferation of mobile financial services to consumers across the globe.
