ROAM, Ingenico Take On mPOS Ecosystem With New Growth Strategy

French payments terminal company Ingenico is aiming to grow its annual revenue to above $2.3 billion in 2016. Essential to this growth is mobile point of sale powerhouse ROAM. Just a few weeks ago Ingenico laid out plans during its Investor Day to accelerate its multi-channel strategy — most notably in eCommerce with the integration of Ogone and in mobile payments with ROAM’s platform. The company said it plans to further integrate around POS with associated Value Added Services leading to additional revenue for merchants and strengthened relationships with their customers.

PYMNTS.com spoke with Ken Paull, CEO of ROAM, and Benoit Boudier, Senior Vice President of International Sales at ROAM, to discuss Ingenico’s newly announced strategy and how it will impact the mPOS marketplace going forward.

Boudier, who also acts as SVP Sales and Marketing, Mobility Payments, at Ingenico, said that the company’s plan centers on three major topics: “growth, innovation and providing solutions beyond the physical point of sale to the online and mobile worlds. And clearly ROAM has a place in all these areas.”

Paull added that ROAM’s core strengths allowing it to be a pillar of Igenico’s strategy. “We’re leveraging Ingenico’s local sales and support around the world and they’re leveraging the products and solutions we’re developing; so it’s an excellent marriage,” Paull said.

Ken Paull

CEO of ROAM

Ken has over 20 years in senior management roles in the electronic payments industry including Senior Vice President at RBS Lynk”¨(now WorldPay), Vice President at Triton Systems and General Manager at VeriFone. He was responsible for building and rapidly growing what is now WorldPay’s national account payments division while also directing the turnaround of what had been a declining ATM processing business. While at Triton, the company surpassed NCR as the second largest domestic ATM supplier and also became the global leader in retail ATM deployments. At VeriFone, Ken built their major account, retail division which has become one of the largest segments of their business. Most recently, Ken was ROAM Data’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Benoit Boudier

Senior Vice President Of International Sales, ROAM

Benoit has over 15 years of international management and business development experience with fast growing technology driven companies in the electronic payments, eCommerce and mobile marketing sectors. Currently responsible for managing the global deployment of mobile payment solutions for payments leader Ingenico, including the ROAM Mobile Commerce Platform. Prior to his current role, Benoit led global Business Development for Ingenico, driving pan European deployment of the company’s transaction services business into tier 1 retailers. Before joining Ingenico, Benoit held executive positions focused on driving innovation and growth for a number start-up and established companies based in Europe. Benoit is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale Paris with a major in Aeronautics and holds a Master’s Degree from the HEC Business School.
