Monitise Inks Deal With Banking Group

Monitise will provide a multi-language mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) to customers of OP-Pohjola Group, a banking group in Finland.

The service enables small businesses to conduct mobile transactions, create digital receipts and compile payments data for mobile traffic.

Available on both Android and iOS platform, the Monitise-powered service will be the first of its kind in Finland, the company said in a Jan. 22 press release.

“We recognise the power of mobile to be an incredibly valuable channel to provide convenient, secure and easily accessible services to make our customers’ lives easier. We look forward to working with Monitise to launch innovations in this area,” Kasimir Hirn, director of the cards and emerging payments business for OP-Pohjola Group, said in a statement.
