Ari Hyytinen and Tuomas Takalo Bio

Dr. Hyytinen works currently as Professor of Economics at the School of Business and Economics at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Before joining the university, he worked at the Financial Markets and Statistics Department of the Bank of Finland and at the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy (ETLA). Dr. Hyytinen is a Member of the Scientific Economic Council of the Finnish Ministry of Finance, an Associate Research Fellow of the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy (ETLA), a Docent (Adjunct Professor) of Helsinki School of Economics, and a Member of the Financial Sector Committee of the Central Finland Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Hyytinen’s research interests include small business finance and banking, economics of entrepreneurship and industrial economics.

 

Dr. Takalo works currently as Research Supervisor at the Monetary Policy and Research Department of the Bank of Finland and as Professor of Economics at the School of Business and Economics at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.

Before joining the Bank, he worked as the Director of the Finnish Doctoral Programme in Economics and the Editor-in-Chief of the Finnish Economic Papers. Dr. Takalo is a Member of the Scientific Committee at the IPR University Center and a Docent (Adjunct Professor) of Helsinki School of Economics, Turku School of Economics and the University of Oulu.  Takalo’s research primarily deals with innovation, intellectual property, and financial economics.
