Secure POS Vendor Alliance’s Steven Hughes on What’s Next

Steven Hughes was recently promoted to be the President for SPVA. Steven held the executive director position for the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) for six years, prior to joining SPVA.

As executive director, Steven was responsible for all facets of the organization, including strategic direction, partnership development, membership growth and retention, international expansion and maintaining a close working relationship with key executives at Oracle Corporation.

Under his leadership, the organization achieved numerous milestones including membership and revenue growth, the launch of a Partnership Program, a brand revitalization and new Web site as well as the merger and integration of 16 different application communities into one global community. The OAUG is the world’s largest independent users group.

As President of the Secure Point of Sale Vendor Alliance,SPVA, Steven executes on the strategic objectives as established by the SPVA Board of Directors, coordinate the efforts of our four technical working groups, which are Common Understanding of Security Standards, Security of the Payment Device Lifecycle, Security Threat Analysis and End to End Encryption. Additionally Steven serves as the main point of contact in collecting member’s feedback on opportunities for SPVA, establishing new member benefits and procuring new members and alliances for the organization within the payments industry.
