IQPC recently hosted a summit on Mobile Commerce on the waterfront in the City by the Bay and invited Market Platform Dynamics to keynote. The event, hosted in San Francisco at the nexus of technology innovation, drew a diverse mix of mobile start-ups, payments companies, major retailers, and online media properties. The conference focus was on how companies from a diverse range of industries can take advantage of the strong consumer drive toward mobility, the growth in remote commerce services, and the explosion of consumer access to mobile devices and networked services to fuel growth and change in their respective businesses.
As a host of difference ecosystems and business models converge on mobile services, they have one thing in common: a drive to generate and sustain consumer commerce through the amazing “PC in your pocket” capabilities that mobile devices deliver. The theme of the conference, therefore, was on how to create and sustain commerce, and –as you might guess—payments capability lies at the heart of the mobile commerce value proposition. Market Platform Dynamics was there to provide unique and strategic insights, in entertaining fashion, on the world of mobile payments and mobile commerce capabilities across a range of companies and approaches.
We wanted to share the following calendar as an excerpt from MPD’s presentation to the conference, with the evolution of mobile commerce mapped to a “year in the life” of mobile services.
