Moving e-Commerce Forward

The Merchant Risk Council’s (MRC) 2011 e-Commerce Payments and Risk Conference focuses on helping online-industry professionals not only improve the profitability and efficiency of their companies, but enhance their overall growth and career development.

A vast array of multi-channel and e-Commerce merchants are set to join a roster of the most innovative solution providers in the business. Industry leaders will be presenting and reviewing unique and valuable insight and information on the growth, diversity and risks associated with electronic commerce.

As e-Commerce and m-Commerce continue to experience exponential change in the ways that products and services are bought and sold, the annual MRC Conference has become the premier gathering point for all industry stakeholders to present and share best practices in payment strategies, data security and online fraud mitigation.

The 2011 conference unites the world’s top internet and multi-channel merchants, credit card brands, electronic payment processors and providers, risk management providers, law enforcement agencies and various consultants and educators in discussing how to make shopping on the internet easier, safer and more efficient for all involved.

In preparation for the MRC’s ninth annual conference, our primary goal was developing social and educational programs that allow attendees to get the very most out of their entire conference experience – and enable delegates  to actually advance the electronic commerce industry. We have increased the total number of sessions, added a series of interactive industry roundtables, assembled an extremely impressive lineup of speakers ready to provide both depth of content and breadth of global subject matter, and even added a full day of training workshops.

We are very excited about the 2011 lineup of speakers and presenters.

– This year’s keynote speakers: Harry Markopolos, financial fraud investigator (best known for bringing down Bernie Madoff’s fraud scheme) will deliver the conference’s opening keynote address on March 23. Joseph Menn, tech writer and author of Fatal System Error: The Hunt for the New Crime Lords Who Are Bringing Down the Internet provides the conference’s closing keynote speech on March 24.

– Other featured speakers include Andreas Weigend, former chief scientist for Amazon.com and social data visionary; as well as Karen Webster, CEO of Market Platform Dynamics and a leading expert in mobile payment initiatives.

– Merchant presenters include: Microsoft, Sony, Nordstrom, Dell, Expedia, Linden Lab, BestBuy.com, Nieman Marcus, Nexon, Wal-Mart, Home Shopping Network, among others.

– Speakers from leading solution providers and card brands include: CyberSource, Retail Decisions, LexisNexis, ThreatMetrix, BOKU, Accertify, Experian, GlobalCollect, Kount, Trustwave, Chase Paymentech, American Express, Zong, MasterCard and 41st Parameter, among many others.

– Industry expert presenters include representatives from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), USPIS, and The Fraud Practice.

We are thrilled to have these speakers and presenters give our attendees a panoramic view of the issues that most affect electronic commerce and the online shopping channel.

In total, this year’s MRC Platinum Meeting (March 22) and General Conference (March 23-24) includes more than 60 speakers and panelists, 50 unique sessions, and more than 45 payment and risk industry exhibitors – focusing on emerging online payment trends and strategies, identifying global cyber threats, managing and reducing chargebacks, and utilizing the newest fraud prevention tools.

The MRC’s 2011 e-Commerce Payments and Risk Conference, co-sponsored by Chase Paymentech and Kount, is being held at the Wynn Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas from March 22-24, 2011. For agenda and registration information, please visit www.merchantriskcouncil.org.
