Google Wallet Considers Sharing Revenue with Carriers

Google is considering sharing revenues from its Google Wallet technology with mobile carriers, including Verizon Wireless and AT&T, as a means for expanding its presence in the payments space.

A report at Bloomberg attributed those claims to “people with knowledge of the project… who asked not to be named because the discussions are private.”

The same report quoted a consultant who noted that the carriers have “no incentive” to go along with such an adoption plan, given their own investment in NFC technology through joint venture ISIS.
