Ahh, Valentine’s Day, when love, requited or otherwise is celebrated around the world. On this most romantic of days, even the most selfish can be made aware of others around who may desire a deeper and more genuine relationship. And, who has been more self-centered than mobile payments?

Few, I would guess. Since mobile payments reached adolescence, it’s been all about them. How they would play with others, who they would choose to talk to, where they would meet with others and what they would dowhen they got there. Flirting is what it’s all about to this selfish child, but now that it’s maturing, one can only hope that it will soon find a place to settle down and some friends to settle down with so we can all stop being annoyed by their immature behavior.

Across the room a quiet, shy player has been watching mobile payments, waiting for the right time and place to show them the obvious connection the two of them share. Both talk to the customer, both want to be wherever the customer is, when the customer is there, and both know that they can make things a whole lot better for everyone they touch. Loyalty knows that with mobile payments, a perfect combination of service and value can reach customers and increase sales for merchants. If only mobile payments would stop obsessing about their own deal and look around, they’d see the perfect partner, real time customer rewards and incentives, waiting and ready, even anxious, to build a relationship with mobile payments that will be the stuff of legend.

Wake up Mobile Payments! Loyalty is in love with you!
