20131226-SEC: Whistleblowers More Common, Active

Data from the SEC shows that whistleblower activity has been on the rise since the agency’s 2011 inception. The office, created by Dodd-Frank, facilitates the delivery of financial crime tips to federal authorities and the disbursement of whistleblower award funds. Not only is reporting increasing year-over-year, but the agency is also on track to spend the most in its three-year history.
