Central Bank of Nigeria Removes Monthly ATM Fee

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extracted a recently imposed ATM card fee due to a public backlash, reported ATM Marketplace. CBN had initially implemented the N100 (63 cent) fee to help compensate for other ATM transaction fee losses. After responding to the angry customers, CBN has removed the ban and insists its goal is to keep fees low to help promote Nigerian’s trust in banking and to mitigate robbery while the country’s economy grows.
