eBay Serves As Major Objector To Online Sales Tax Bill

Online retail and auction giant eBay has come out against the Marketplace Fairness Act, which will allow states to collect sales tax from items sold online. EBay’s main objection to the bill, which was reintroduced to the Senate this week, is that it will hurt small business, according to All Things D.

“No small business should face new taxes,” said Brian Bieron, eBay’s senior director of global public policy. “There’s no benefit compared to the harm that would be done.”
