PayPal Partners With Orderbird For Mobile Check-Ins, Payments

In a bid to grow the reach of its payments business in Europe, PayPal is partnering with Germany-based startup Orderbird to create a merchant check-in service, TechCrunch reported on November 27.

The service creates consumer profiles that sync with a shopper’s smartphone when they enter a store. This profile syncs up with that customer’s PayPal account, which can then be accessed to process payments.

Orderbird, which sells iPad-based point-of-sale systems, will integrate the PayPal service into its POS offerings.
