aisle411 Turns To Google For New Advisory Board Member

Retail indoor location services platform aisle411 announced last week that it had appointed Google’s Don Dodge to its advisory board. Dodge is currently a Developer Advocate at Google, according to an aisle411 release, and his appointment to the advisory board will be effective immediately.

aisle411 CEO Nathan Pettyjohn said in the company statement that his organization is excited to bring Dodge aboard “in the explosive growth market of indoor location.” Pettyjohn added that Dodge has great experience and expertise, and is able to “pick first-to-market leading technology platforms that become game changing market leaders.”

Dodge explained in a statement that Indoor Location will be a bigger market than Maps or GPS because “we spend most of our time indoors, working, shopping, eating, at the mall, at the office, on campus, etc.”

“aisle411 guides users to products and services, where consumers can receive relevant ads and offers,” Dodge said. “Delivering the right message, at the right place, at the right time, can dramatically increase revenue.”

The indoor location market is set to skyrocket in popularity, according to recent data from ABI Research. Specifically, indoor location applications are predicted to hit 1 billion downloads by 2016, according to ABI.
