Amazon’s eGift Surprise

Amazon has launched a Surprise! for the holiday season, TechCrunch reported.

Surprise!, Amazon’s new mobile app for iOS and Android users allows customers to send e-cards to celebrate most any occasion. This includes Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwanza, just to name a few. The new app allows users to personalize cards with photos, audio and video and attach the message to the Amazon gift card.

There aren’t quite as many jazzy choices as some of the e-card competitors, but the Amazon Surprise! is more about what’s in the card — the gift to shop on Amazon. Through the Facebook-powered app, users can send an Amazon Gift card from a smartphone without actually having to use a browser or website.

“Surprise additionally takes advantage of integrations with Facebook to fill your own “Occasion Timeline” by adding friends’ and family events, like birthdays,” TechCrunch reported. “It also pulls in events from your phone’s calendar and pulls in your phone’s contacts. The occasions are also synced with Amazon’s “Friends & Family Gifting” program on the web, which is where the company offers other Facebook-enabled gift suggestions. …Cards can be personalized using photos and videos taken from your device, the device’s gallery, or from Facebook, and you can leave your greeting via written text or as a voice clip. ”
