Merchants Can Now Make Purchases Offline with Square

The feature has already been tested at coffee shops in San Francisco and New York.

Square announced on Tuesday that it will debut its order ahead and pickup tool, offline mode and inventory tracking for merchants, according to TechCrunch.

The feature will allow merchants to link to a menu and order pickup feature on Square Market, and is already being used at well established coffee shops and cafes in San Francisco and New York.

The company will charge an 8 percent processing fee per order, with an introductory rate of 2.75 percent through July 1, 2014.

The pickup offering will include a free storefront on Square Market, free setup, and full integration into Register.  Sellers will be able receive payment the next business day. According to TechCrunch, Square comes in-line with others, where the standard is around 10 percent or higher for food orders.
