NRF Appeals Interchange Fee Ruling

The National Retail Federation has filed an appeal to stop the settlement between U.S. merchants, MasterCard and Visa over credit card transaction swipe fees, the Wall Street Journal reported on January 2.

The settlement, worth $5.7 billion, was originally approved by a federal judge last month. The NRF is one of a number of plaintiffs in the case arguing that the approved settlement is unfair.

The original lawsuit was filed against MasterCard and Visa in 2005.
