In an attempt to save time and resources, Square is looking to increase its integration with third-party vendors to stay ahead of the increasingly crowded and technologically advanced mCommerce ecosystem.

In an attempt to save time and resources, Square is looking to increase its integration with third-party vendors to stay ahead of the increasingly crowded and technologically advanced mCommerce ecosystem.

“There are a number of different kinds of businesses using Square, and everyone has a unique need. By partnering with third parties we can not only get these business tools for merchants out there, but meet specific needs,” KC Simon, a Square spokesperson told Payments Watch

The move to partner with third party comes as Square is trying to branch its business away from micro-merchants and focus more on small-and-medium sized businesses.

Square’s new partner platform is an extension of  Works With Square, a program that allows developers to build accessories for Square businesses. The first round of  partnerships mostly focus on accounting, including an integration announced earlier this week with Xero’s accounting software.
