UK’s Super Sunday Forecast

eBay.co.uk is speculating that Super Sunday, in between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is going to be the most chaotic shopping day with 7M+ British bargain hunters ready to shop.

eBay UK is predicting that shoppers will purchase over 1,800 gifts per minute from the 800M+ items available to them on the site. The trading is also enhanced by over 104,000 exclusive deals.

Tanya Lawler, VP for eBay Marketplaces in the UK, said “This Christmas, above all, people want convenience and selection. The company also expects the website’s rush hour to range from 8:00 p.m., to 9:00 p.m., when customers tune into the X Factor show and are predicted to utilize their mobile devices with 59% of all shoppers using the site on a mobile device. As of recent reports, eBay UK has noted that every hour shoppers are purchasing a total of at least 5 teddy bears, 85 game consoles, 99 tablets, 57 board games, 258 mobile phones and 318 handbags on eBay’ UK website.

According to reports, on a global level, eBay saw a 15% increase on Black Friday 2013 from the year prior. comScore reported $1.198B in desktop e-commerce sales on Black Friday alone. The UK expects to see an increase on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year as well as more merchants has embraced the US shopping experience.

Retails sales could experience a potential growth up to 3%, with 13% being online sales equaling about £4.7M.
