It appears that Apple is making its same-day delivery service around the Big Apple … well, a little bigger.
MacRumors reports that Apple’s new same-day delivery option — facilitated by Postmates — is available in 37 of 43 zip codes in Manhattan. (Via the outlet’s investigation, the service has limited coverage in some northern neighborhoods and none at all on Roosevelt Island, in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. It’s worth noting that customers who do not live in an area where Postmates delivers will not be presented by Apple — when ordering from the Apple Store online or via the app — with same-day delivery options.)
As MacRumors points out, Apple’s same-day delivery option with Postmates will bring to consumers’ doorsteps — for a $19 fee — items such as Macs, iPads, iPods, Apple TVs, Apple Watches, Beats products, cables, accessories and other products that are available (as long as they’re in stock) at local Apple Stores. Most products are guaranteed to be delivered within a two-hour window, while select purchases may have longer wait times included. Apple provides customers who utilize the Postmates same-day delivery service with estimated delivery times and updated tracking information.
The outlet additionally notes that Apple first launched the Postmates same-day delivery service in the San Francisco Bay Area in May. Other major cities in which Postmates operates include Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, Denver, San Diego, Portland, Phoenix, Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Minneapolis and Charlotte. All that being said, the MacRumors story is careful to note that same-day deliveries from the Apple Store (made either online or through the app) are, at least for now, limited to the Bay Area and Manhattan.
