CytexOne, focused on what is known as “intelligent, connected” environments, said Tuesday (July 21) that it has formed CytexOne Hospitality. The new unit is billed as the “first and only company dedicated to creating and managing smart hotel environments.”
In a statement from the company, CytexOne said the hospitality operation will bring the Internet of Things (IoT) to the hotel room, with features driving energy efficiency and hotel security.
Among the “things” being connected are lighting, surveillance, tablets and other mobile devices. The management systems governing and integrating front desk, room service and staffing with quick response goals to meet customer needs will help hotels maximize revenue and productivity, the company said in the release.
The company said its hardware will let hotels outfit customized “SmartRacks” that sport IoT technologies, with a direct link to the CytexOne platform known as Atlas, a cloud-based monitoring and remote management platform.
Services offered to hotel clients will range from in-room and property audio/video integration, surveillance, smart lighting, HVAC, room service tray trackers and automatic temperature control.
“Enterprises need partners with deep sector expertise and the ability to reduce the complexity and fragmentation of IoT technologies. Our survey data shows that if it’s possible, they would prefer to deal with a single service provider,” said Brian Partridge, vice president of 451 Research, in the release announcing the service.
“Given its years of experience, CytexOne is a great example of a company on the pioneering side of the IoT curve. While IoT will have a role to play in several industries, we anticipate demand will be particularly strong in the hospitality segment. Resorts and hotels can use IoT systems to enhance guest experiences while also reducing their overall energy costs, which is a recipe for compelling ROI.”
