EFS Debuts App For Fleet Spend Management

Fleet technology firm EFS is rolling out a new mobile app for fleet managers.

The company announced the launch of EFS CarrierControl on Monday (Sept. 18), a solution EFS said is an improvement upon its existing fleet management mobile app offering.

The mobile app enables fleet managers to control time-sensitive employee or contractor payment cards while in transit. The solution supports managers’ ability to authorize MoneyCodes for drivers to cash checks or make payments, load cash onto their cards and allow drivers to gain access to additional company funds on a case-by-case basis while also ensuring proper use of company money.

“EFS continues to focus on using data and technology to bring real-working solutions to our customers that enhance efficiencies, lower costs and mitigate risks,” said EFS manager of mobile application development Stacy Brothers in a statement. “Providing our customers the ability to leverage the robust functionality of our payment platforms via a mobile device allows them to be more efficient in managing their fleets while on the go.”

EFS’s CarrierControl app follows the launch of the CardControl app earlier this year, a tool designed for the drivers themselves to access funds and gain visibility into their spend. Managers can also use the CardControl solution for payroll, settlement and management of access to funds for drivers.

In June, EFS announced the launch of Fleet One EDGE, a solution designed for smaller fleets. The tool is a discount program that enables access to discounts and savings typically reserved for larger fleets, the firm said, and is designed to help companies save money on fuel.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to bring one of the most comprehensive savings networks to the fleet industry,” said Matt Lattin, director of fleet products for EFS. “With the combination of EFS and Fleet One OTR businesses now joined together under WEX, it further enhances our ability to bring robust technology and comprehensive product offerings to the entire OTR industry, regardless of fleet size.”

EFS was acquired by WEX, a payment processing and information management services provider, in 2015 for $1.4 billion.
