A new service now offered by the state of Colorado allows citizens with
outstanding state debt to make payments online at http://www.Colorado.gov,
the state’s official Web site. Individuals who owe debts to the state
through Central Collection Services can now view their account balances
and make payments online.
“The online Central Collection Services Payment Portal enhances the
collections payment process and creates a fast, convenient, and
efficient method for Coloradoans who owe money to the state to make
payments,” said Governor Bill Ritter. “This latest technology fits our
strategy to improve efficiencies over the old paper process and improve
automated services within state government.”
Seeing a need to improve the efficiency of online debt payments, the
Central Collection Services unit of the Department of Personnel &
Administration initiated and launched this new online debt payment
service. The online payment portal not only makes it easier for
individuals to repay state-owed debts, but it also frees up critical
department resources to better serve the public. The timing is ideal
because it allows the agency to allocate resources more efficiently
during a period of tight budgets.
Constantly striving to find innovative and customer friendly ways to
work with their debtors, Central Collection Services is pleased to offer
this new, user-friendly service to help individuals repay their debts to
the state. “More often than not, people want to pay their debts to the
state, and we want to make repayment of those debts as accessible as
possible for our clients,” said Adrienne Benavidez, Director of the
Division of Finance and Procurement, which manages Central Collection
Services. “We are very excited about this new payment option and
appreciate the work that went into this new program.”
Individuals who want to view their accounts and/or pay their debts via
the Internet can do so at www.colorado.gov/centralcollections.
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and eCheck payments are processed
through Colorado.gov’s secure payment system.
