The Valence Group, the world's largest chemicals and materials
investment banking boutique, has hired Alex Khutorsky as Managing
Director. Alex, who will be based in the firm's New York office, brings
extensive senior-level M&A experience across a range of industrial
sectors, including chemicals and mining & metals.
Alex has over 15 years of experience and $75 billion of announced
transactions as an M&A investment banker, including senior positions at
Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Dahlman Rose. He was most recently
interim CEO of Meadow Bay Gold, a publicly traded company. He began his
career as an attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell where he practiced
corporate law, with a focus on M&A.
Telly Zachariades, Partner, said: "We are delighted to have Alex as the
latest senior level addition to our growing global team. Our clients
will benefit from his broad-based transaction skills, including
significant experience in acquisitions, divestitures and defense of US
publicly listed companies. Having worked both as a senior M&A banker and
more recently as CEO of a publicly listed company, he has the
multi-disciplinary perspective that continues to differentiate The
Valence Group from many of its competitors."
Alex commented: "I am excited by the opportunity to join The Valence
Group and help accelerate its impressive growth. Industry-focused
investment banking firms are clearly gaining significant market share
from more generalist bulge bracket firms. As the only truly global
chemicals and materials investment banking firm, The Valence Group is
positioned to offer its clients a level of insight and transaction
experience not otherwise available in the marketplace. I look forward to
working with the team to leverage my experience and technical skills for
the benefit of the firm's clients."
