That’s What I Call Music!, has launched its first-ever U.S.
streaming initiative with today’s debut of a dynamic NOW
Spotify playlist app. The new Spotify app allows music
fans across the U.S. to stream and share NOW-curated
and user-customized playlists featuring major hits spanning the past
NOW That’s What I Call Music!’s new
Spotify app encourages users to enjoy NOW-created
playlists including the weekly Top 20, recent NOW
series album track lists, and special Spotify-only thematic playlists
such as Saturday Night Party and Lazy Sunday. NOW
will post new playlists every week, and users can also create their own
custom themed playlists, drawing from any tracks available on Spotify,
including NOW’s broad selection of
top hits spanning pop, country, party, hip-hop, and more from the 1980s
through today. The app’s NOW Playlist wheel also allows users to
mix and match their favorite eras and genres to generate custom
The app’s social features allow sharing of all playlists on Facebook,
Twitter and Tumblr. Fans can also login to the NOW
app with Facebook for a deeper user experience that allows sharing of
playlists for friends’ birthdays and other special occasions. In
addition, NOW’s U.S. Facebook fans (www.facebook.com/Nowthatsmusic)
can submit their own favorite playlists to NOW
for possible inclusion in the app’s official Fan Playlist of the Week.
Today’s U.S. Spotify app debut follows last year’s hugely successful
launch of NOW’s UK Spotify playlist
app, which debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s app chart and has since
remained among Spotify’s top three apps.
