Bloomberg LINK announced today that in partnership with Bloomberg
Television, it will host its inaugural Next Big Thing Summit on June
17-18 at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California.
The two-day Summit will convene the most influential investors and
entrepreneurs in technology and science to debate how innovation is
reshaping industries and creating new opportunities for investment.
Bloomberg has assembled a power-packed list of speakers, including
one-on-one discussions with:
Steve Case, Chairman and CEO, Revolution; Co-Founder, America
Online; Chairman, The Case Foundation, who will talk about Silicon
Valley, Washington and the start-up revolution;
Edwin M. Lee, Mayor, San Francisco, who will talk about smart
cities and competition between San Francisco and Silicon Valley;
The Hon. Gavin Newsom, Lieutenant Governor, State of

One highlight of the Summit will be a heated debate, titled "The
Currency of the Future is BitCoin?" The debate will be moderated by Dave
Goldberg, Chief Executive Officer, SurveyMonkey, and taking opposing
sides will be Micky Malka, Founder, Ribbit Capital, and James
Rickards, Senior Managing Director, Tangent Capital Partners;
Author, Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis.
