Bill Drummy, Founder and CEO of integrated marketing agencies Heartbeat Ideas and Heartbeat West, has been selected by Google to join its Healthcare Advisory Board.
Established in 2007 to help Google users searching for health information make more empowered and informed healthcare decisions, the Google Healthcare Advisory Board’s primary aim is to acquire a better understanding of the problems consumers and providers face every day and offer feedback on product ideas and development. To help achieve this mission, Google has gathered a diverse group of thought leaders to discuss the changing healthcare landscape, implications of health reform, the empowered consumer, the digital doctor, and short and long-term opportunities for partnership as healthcare and the role of pharma is reinvented.
The advisory board consists of top pharmaceutical, media and agency executives widely considered experts in the healthcare industry. The board will hold a quarterly thought leadership roundtable that will help guide ongoing and upcoming Google health initiatives.
Mr. Drummy said of the prospect of working with the industry bellwether, “Google was founded in 1995, the same year I started a digital agency, so I’ve tracked their growth very closely at every stage and found their ability to be continuously innovative a true inspiration. In healthcare, they’ve stumbled a bit more than in other sectors, but I’m both honored and very jazzed to play some small role in helping them figure out the healthcare future. It’s all about innovation for all consumers, at the point of first inquiry, and an opportunity to bring them better health through smarter marketing, which is Heartbeat’s vision.”
Mr. Drummy is also a member of the Pharmaceutical Executive Editorial Advisory Board (EAB), the DTC Perspectives Advisory Board, has been inducted into the DTC Perspectives Hall of Fame, and chosen as one of PharmaVoice’s 100 most inspiring and influential leaders in the life sciences industry.
