Solange Taps BigCommerce For Saint Heron Site Relaunch

If Beyoncé and Jay Z ever see their musical careers go in the tank (they won’t), at least now they have their own music streaming service to fall back on for day jobs. On the other hand, Solange — Beyoncé’s sister — has to make her eCommerce venture work without the luxury of a few Billboard charting tunes.

That’s the mission behind the relaunch of Solange’s online store for her Saint Heron fashion line, which aims to incorporate diversity into every design it sells. Solange worked with BigCommerce for the redesign, which uses the eCommerce platform’s newly released customizable templates for mid-market retailers looking to expand. Solange touched on how the reinterpreted interface could let her customers find their unique styles a little more easily than the last iteration of the Saint Heron site.

“Relaunching the Saint Heron store has been an inspiring journey that elevated the brand to a more collaborative and beautiful place,” Solange said in a statement. “At the heart of everything, the way Saint Heron looks and feels to our community is essential to its identity, and we couldn’t have achieved the same result for the Saint Heron store without BigCommerce. It’s important that Saint Heron visitors have a fulfilling experience on the new store, and I didn’t want to compromise color, style or my unique approach to design to deliver that. With BigCommerce, I didn’t have to give up any key elements and could even convey a stronger energy with the options their platform provides.”

It’s not often that eCommerce platforms and celebrity personalities are provided the opportunity to work together for mutual gain, but it appears to be so with the Solange-BigCommerce partnership. And while BigCommerce Head of Design Andrea Wagner didn’t come out and say it, the company’s ongoing eCommerce relationships with other celebrities, including Martha Stewart, prove that it knows what it’s doing, as well as what, precisely, is being sold.
