Looklive Mimics Celebs’ Styles For The Average Joe

Looklive is an app that helps guys dress like their favorite celebrities.

Want to dress like Brad Pitt or George Clooney? Then, try Looklive.

Looklive is a men’s fashion app that lets men shop the looks of their favorite celebrities and then gives them the option of buying those same clothes or styles (or something more affordable that might be similar to what their favorite celebrities like to wear), according to TechCrunch.

Similar to apps like Craves, Looklive focuses squarely on men’s fashion and pairing styles to celebrities or other fashion influencers, like famous athletes.

The startup’s tech crawls the internet for photos of celebrities wearing stylish clothes but also uses human editors to aggregate them for use with the app, Then, it uses data and image analysis to compare the photo to brands the celebrity in question has been associated with in the past.

Looklive’s live human editorial team then selects similar-looking and more affordable items to suggest for guys who might want to dress like David Beckham but can’t exactly afford to dress like David Beckham.

Looklive currently has over 60,000 products and more than 10,000 celebrity fashion images available through its app. And the app has more than 1 million monthly users and is growing revenue at 25 percent per month, according to TechCrunch.

Looklive is taking part in Y Combinator, which put an $140,000 infusion into the startup. The app is currently available as a free download on iTunes, and the Android version is expected to debut in a few weeks.
