ACI Worldwide Gets 2016 SWIFT Certified Application For Payments Label

ACI Worldwide, a provider of real-time electronic payment and banking solutions, announced on Tuesday (Sept. 13) that its global payment processing solution, ACI Money Transfer System, was awarded the 2016 SWIFT Certified Application for Payments label. It marks the 19th consecutive year the company was bestowed the label.

In order to receive the certification label, the Money Transfer System effectively manages SWIFT messages. Money Transfer System is an extensible payments and SWIFT messaging service that provides global processing capabilities. The system is a single, integrated solution for domestic and international processing, including the SEPA Credit Transfer and Direct Debit schemes.

“ACI is a proven partner, with consistent compliance to SWIFT’s guidelines to support an effective transaction banking marketplace,” said Filip Versluys, head of business architecture and partner programs at the SWIFT Institute, in a press release. “We are pleased to recognize ACI’s accreditation and commitment to SWIFT’s standards for the 19th consecutive year.”

Jennifer Holton, vice president of UP Transaction Banking product management at ACI Worldwide, said the company is committed to bringing “world-class” solutions to its banking customers. “Money Transfer System provides a reliable, flexible transaction banking solution, and we are thrilled to be recognized each year by the SWIFT community,” she said.

The certification comes just days after the firm announced that one of Hungary’s largest banks, Erste Bank Hungary (EBH), is enhancing its electronic payment services by working more closely with ACI Worldwide. ACI will be powering EBH’s updated electronic payment options using ACI’s UP Retail Payments solution. The goal, both companies say, is to spur continued growth across Europe. The new initiative is an upgrade from the older versions of ACI’s solutions, as EBH and ACI have been working together since 2003. EBH is part of the Erste Group, which works with 15.8 million clients in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia.
