Ryanair and PayPal Working On Smartphone Payments

Irish Airline Ryanair is collaborating with PayPal Ireland to help advance sales. Their goal is to enable Ryanair customers to buy flight tickets using PayPal’s smartphone software.

As a member of Ryanair’s board, Louise Phelan, PayPal vice president of global operations for Europe/Middle East/Africa, reportedly is working with the company on ways to develop commercial partnerships with the airline. This includes development of a simple way for the airline’s customers to use their smartphones to pay via PayPal.

“PayPal is constantly looking at opportunities to improve and innovate and certainly as part of the Ryanair board it’s great to be able to talk about what innovative things we are doing, but also to support the growth of Ryanair and look at innovation and new ways to do things,” she told The Independent.
