Cortex MCP is developing a new IP-protected Mobile Payment and Wallet Platform, focused on both a new Secure Payment Methodology and ID/Credential Storage and Verification. The Mobile Payment and Wallet marketplace is a rapidly evolving and highly fragmented market, with multiple players (from the current incumbents/FI's to the emerging payment platforms) vying for a leadership position. However, most of the core approaches have lacked the true insight and long-term focus of what a Mobile Wallet should be and the reality of the consumer transational experience. The glaring security lapses, muddled/confusing value propositions, and misapplication of old technology into a new form factor has consequently hampered near term consumer acceptance. Even more critically, the HW requirements (Secure Element Chip) and political battles have limited what can be adopted where and by whom. And many have also neglected what a wallet also needed to be a place to store key credentials and ID components that can be verified/accepted by a third party.

A new core foundation is needed to address these issues, and thus create a platform that can be adopted and accelerated by all – across any device with inherent consumer security and control.
