The U.S. Federal Reserve is preparing a major study on the volume and composition of electronic and check payments, notes Finextra.
The study is held by the Fed's Retail Payments Office (RPO) every three years and displays trends in electronic payments, eCommerce, card transactions and checking.
The 2010 study showed that non-cash payments in the U.S. grew by 4.6 percent between 2006 and 2009, and that three-quarters of non-cash payments in 2009 were made electronically.
