TxVia to Process Prepaid Cards for Leading Solutions Provider to State and Local Governments

TxVia, Inc., a leader in processing technology for prepaid and emerging payments, today announced it has signed an agreement with Carrollton, Georgia-based Systems & Methods, Inc. (SMI) to process prepaid cards utilizing its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) delivery model.

TxVia will provide SMI with a custom and segregated processing platform—developed, hosted and managed by TxVia—as well as supporting services. The platform, based on TxVia’s unique “platform builder” approach, offers SMI significant scalability, reliability, time-to-market, economic and security benefits.

Founded in 1971, SMI is a leading provider of technological services and solutions to state and local government agencies. SMI will offer its clients a variety of prepaid card solutions.

“At SMI, we’ve established successful, longstanding business relationships with our clients by consistently providing industry leading solutions and impeccable service,” said Joe Stone, CEO of SMI. “In expanding our offerings to include prepaid cards, we conducted an extensive review of potential processing partners to identify the one that would best allow us to serve our government clients to the high levels they’ve come to expect from us.”

“We selected TxVia because of its deep knowledge of prepaid, leading technology solution and servicing, and strong reputation for delivery and reliability,” added Stone. “TxVia has the functionality to support us today and the flexibility to meet our future needs.”

“We’re delighted to have been chosen by SMI,” said Anil D. Aggarwal, chairman and CEO of TxVia. “Efficient and dependable disbursement of payments is critical in government programs because recipients depend on these funds to meet their everyday needs.”

TxVia processes a broad range of prepaid cards–including general purpose reloadable (GPR), gift, incentive, government disbursement, payroll and expense management for leading program managers and issuers–and offers processing solutions in other areas of emerging payments such as merchant acquiring and payment network enablement.

About TxVia, Inc.

TxVia offers the most advanced processing technology for prepaid and emerging payments as well as a complete range of supporting services. Solutions cover the full scope of consumer, corporate and government applications.

As the only mass provider of custom solutions, TxVia is modernizing electronic payments by offering unparalleled product and service quality, product manageability and configurability, platform performance and operations, client control and cost savings. TxVia clients, which include some of the world’s largest payments companies, realize significant scalability, reliability, time-to-market, economic, security and other benefits, overcoming the risks and product and service degradation often associated with other processing options.

TxVia pioneered the PaaS delivery model for payment processing as an outgrowth of software-as-a-service (SaaS). With PaaS, TxVia rapidly and cost-effectively creates highly customized and fully segregated processing platforms for its clients. This approach best manages the ever-increasing complexities of payments across the various products, verticals, organizations, geographies and channels that encompass the industry.

Clients can outsource processing to TxVia completely or bring all or a part of their requirements in-house, allowing them meaningful control over their processing. Regardless of the configuration, PaaS users do not share a platform with other organizations and products, and are able to redefine the payments value chain to their specific needs.
