Square Suffers Late-Night Outage, Confirmed by Spokesperson

An hour-long outage affected Square’s ability to process payments, The Next Web reports.

After reports of an outage began appearing on Hacker News, Square’s Aaron Zamost confirmed that an outage had indeed occurred. “Some users experienced a connectivity issue late this evening, during which time our website was inaccessible and some payments could not be processed,” Zamost said.

The outage lasted for an hour, The Next Web estimates.
