Citibank India Rolls Out Mobile Card Acceptance Platform

Citibank India has launched a Square-like swipe-and-dongle system for mobile payments acceptance in India, according to Finextra. Citibank partnered with local tech company Ezetap for the platform, which is a PCI-compliant system compatible with Android mobile devices.

“We believe that this payment and collection device has the potential to dramatically increase the penetration of card terminals from the current low level of 700,000 units in India,” said Muge Yuzuak, country head, cards and personal loans, Citibank India.
