A new study by Ifop has revealed that 50% of the French population plans to spend the winter sales’ season online. With 80% of French shoppers taking advantage of the sales, according to the study, there is an enormous potential for the online and mobile channels.

Ifop reveals that competitive pricing, free delivery and bigger reductions are three strong arguments driving the French out of traditional shops. However, brick and mortar shop owners do not need to worry just yet as 72% of the population will still visit their shops during this year’s Winter sales season.

This report is accompanied by the announcement earlier this year that for the first time in history the country’s favourite retailer is non-physical. The country’s favourite retailer, Amazon, tops a list full of online retailers international and national.
