PayPal Offers Walletless Payments Solution To Berlin Merchants

Consumers in Berlin who don’t have their wallet can still make payments as part of a merchant technology pilot launched by PayPal, the company announced in a December 13 press release.

The Check-In program allows consumers to make a purchase at a cafe or small business without using a traditional method of payment. According to PayPal, they only need a registered account and a smartphone with PayPal’s app.

“By this new way of paying, we not only ensure that customers can buy what they want even if they don’t have the right amount of cash on them, but also that merchants of all sizes can be an active part of the innovative future of commerce,” the company stated in the release.”
