Apple Pay Partners With Volusion For “Buy With Apple Pay” Button

Volusion, the eCommerce platform catering to small businesses (SMBs), announced news on Tuesday (Jan. 30) that it’s partnering with Apple Pay to create a “Buy Now” button for its merchants.

In a press release, Volusion said merchants can now accept Apple Pay, eliminating the need for customers to enter their payment, shipping or contact information every time they make a purchase online.

“In our daily conversations with the merchants we serve, we’ve learned that seamless and secure payment options are top priority, and we are happy to announce that Volusion merchants can now provide Apple Pay as an option to meet that need,” said Kevin Sproles, CEO and founder of Volusion, in a press release announcing support for Apple Pay. “We know merchants using Apple Pay see two to five times higher conversion at checkout compared to other payment options and see more than 50 percent faster checkout times. We are excited to be able to provide this for our merchants and their customers.”

In addition to supporting Apple Pay, Volusion added the option for merchants to embed an Apple Pay “Buy Now” button on the product pages of their eCommerce stores. The feature takes customers directly to their shopping cart to purchase their goods via Apple Pay. The button, said Volusion, streamlines the checkout process and eliminates the need for extra steps to purchase an item online.

Volusion isn’t the only one catering to small businesses with Apple Pay. Apple is too with its iOS 11.3, a soon-to-come update to its iPhone operating system. According to 9to5Mac, iOS 11.3 will be available to customers in the spring.

One of the biggest features of iOS 11.3 will be a new platform in iMessage: Business Chat. “With Business Chat, it’s easy to have a conversation with a service representative, schedule an appointment or make purchases using Apple Pay in the Messages app,” the company wrote. “Business Chat doesn’t share the user’s contact information with businesses and gives users the ability to stop chatting at any time.”

Apple will be testing out other partnerships with Discover, Hilton, Lowe’s and Wells Fargo.
